Do you know what it takes to deliver firm-wide, global strategic direction for all AI-related programs? We’re looking for someone like that who can help us:
• Identify, shape and support the prioritization of high-level functional concepts, roadmaps and concrete Artificial Intelligence use cases together with, and driven by demand from, our business divisions• Assess the strategic and tactical relevance of technology change and identify use cases that could represent an opportunity for disruptive or evolutionary innovation• Collaborate with all UBS business divisions in preparing Proof-of-Concepts, pilots, Minimum Viable Products and business cases• Build out the UBS capabilities in AI and ML applications in collaboration with internal and external teams• Manage stakeholders with all relevant functions involved in change, automation, innovation and business divisions• Keep tight links with the external AI community and potential partners in Academia, startups and established vendors, investors, corporates or industry associations globally• Manage a diverse and decentralized team in a global environment• Support the culture change towards an agile, collaborative and innovative financial institution• Support UBS sourcing and vendor strategies as required• Support the ongoing refinement of business and architecture requirements, control frameworks and establishing standards
You’ll be working in the Group CTO team in London or Zurich. Our role is to provide the strategic direction for technology investment through its Enterprise Architecture, Innovation, Research and Development, and SDLC centers of excellence.
Your experience and skills
– MS or PhD with a number of years experience in the Computer Science field, or BS with significant applied AI/machine learning experience– a strong background in one or more of the following: Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Recommendation Systems, Pattern Recognition, Large Scale Data Mining or Artificial Intelligence.– solid knowledge in deep learning algorithms and AI system design and architecture.– preferably Financial Services knowledge – a strong understanding of the technology evaluation and selection process– an excellent understanding of complex system architecture, components and requirements– a record of academic publishing in related conferences and/or journals (at least it would be a plus)– proven and demonstrated implementation skills (putting theory into practice)
– honest, reliable, self-motivated with a high level of integrity– a strong influencer and negotiator– an excellent communicator to both IT and business, with a solid understanding of the emerging technology marketplace
