Noblis is seeking a data scientist to be part of a team of professionals supporting a U.S. Government client's technical and technological challenges, and developing solutions to address national security threats. The employee would provide scientific support across a portfolio of technology programs, spanning dozens of individual projects. In particular, the client requires expertise in soliciting, evaluating, and transitioning algorithms for image analysis, feature extraction, and risk analysis, all with interfaces amenable to a non-expert user.  The employee would also analyze and develop formal reports, briefings, and read-ahead materials, as well as organize/coordinate meetings, discussions, and seminars.  The position may require travel (limited- 6x/year).

Tasking may include, among other duties:

  • Evaluate and verify statistical methodologies performed to support client projects including study designs, sample size calculations, data quality, data validation, randomization, etc.
  • Educate, advise, and/or train non-statisticians (project management, scientists, end users, etc.) on statistical methodologies/approaches, analytical issues, and risks.
  • Participate as the data science subject matter expert in meetings with client-organized teams to include scientific and non-scientific personnel.
  • Study reports from a wider variety of projects and provide statistical interpretations of methodologies, conclusions, and readiness for subsequent formal (and often costly) testing and evaluation activities.  
  • Advise/review on the presentation of data standards.


  • Master’s degree (experience may not substitute) in data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a closely related field. 
  • 12 years of related experience. 
  • The position contractually requires applicants to possess a U.S. security clearance.
