Job Description

Netflix accelerates member growth across the globe through product improvements, partnerships with device manufacturers and operators, and expansion of payment methodologies.  The Growth Data Products team partners with product managers and business leaders to scale access to data and insights. We do this by building high-performance data products that enable a shared and consistent perspective of business performance across product, messaging, payments, and partnerships.
Our growth and innovation is driven in large part by using the data we generate to improve strategic and tactical decision making.  We use open source technologies and business intelligence tools to create data products which are used on a daily basis by our business and technical teams.  We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to focus on building data products and scaling access to insights for our Growth and Payments teams.

What you will do:

    • Become fully immersed in the context of Growth, Messaging, and Payments, globally, as well as via our regional offices.
    • Work directly with Director-and-up product managers and payment managers.
    • Enable perspectives on new growth initiatives and payment schemes coming online in new territories as we continue our global expansion.
    • Design and build data products to optimize measurement of product changes, messaging campaigns, and payment methodologies.
    • Work closely with our Finance Planning & Analysis team to ensure they have data and tools to help provide high-cadence business analysis.

Who you are:

    • An experienced application developer or business intelligence professional with a background in product and payments.
    • Experienced in supporting data and concepts aligned with Finance, Payments, or Product teams at a web-oriented or subscription-based business.
    • Experienced at taking vague requirements and crystallizing them into valuable tools and perspectives.
    • Able to multitask and work on multiple ongoing projects, with minimal oversight, documentation, and defined process.
    • Confident in taking ownership of impactful projects and courageously make decisions in our culture of Freedom and Responsibility.

Experience you have:

    • Extensive experience manipulating and analyzing complex data with SQL (Hive / Presto / Spark).
    • Extensive Tableau experience is required, including viz development, complex multi-workbook environments, and optimizations for very large scale data.
    • Experience with Python to retrieve, manipulate, and integrate data is required.
    • Experience developing web apps with Node, React, and D3 or a web framework like Django or Flask is strongly preferred.
    • An understanding of dimensional warehouse data models is valuable.
