Lyft is looking to add a Data Analyst to its growing Risk Solutions Team. We're changing both transportation and insurance here at Lyft! Our insurance solutions are revolutionary, innovative, and evolving. The Risk Solutions team is responsible for managing financial risk associated with the operations of the Lyft platform. The team proactively solves problems by implementing solutions to make Lyft operations safer, efficient and an overall better experience.  
The data analyst(s) will be responsible for bridging the gap between data that is core to risk management (mileage, location, financial and claims data, etc.) and cross functional teams that are working together on loss mitigation strategies and process improvements for Lyft and Lyft Partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Analyze effectiveness of loss mitigation strategies and help identify opportunities for improvement
    • Assist Risk Solutions members with determining impact of new products, geographic expansion, and acquisitions
    • Build reporting dashboards, weekly/monthly reports, and relationships with FP&A team to ensure that Lyft is accurately reporting insurance related information and supporting being public market ready
    • Utilize Risk Management Information System to organize and track relevant information and identify identification of claim trends and risk mitigation strategies – identifies key performance indicators and measures results
    • Work in close liaison with Data Science team for claims and exposure data - ensuring an understanding of the need and impact of their work and enabling project success
    • Identify opportunities for automation and enhancements to internal and external reports

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    • 3-4+ years of experience
    • Proven ability to source, manipulate, and visualize data
    • Insurance/Actuarial/Claims experience a Plus
    • Experience working with cross functional partners (FP&A, Data Science, Product, Engineering, Risk Solutions)
    • Critical thinking skills to ensure work produced is high quality, accurate, and trusted
    • Extreme attention to detail and ability to clearly communicate results to executive stakeholders
    • Strong Excel and SQL skills a must; experience with R, Python, Data Warehouses (Redshift/Hive), and an interest in coding/automation preferred
