About the team:
Lyft’s self-driving (autonomous) vehicle team is ensuring that Lyft continues to fulfill its mission of providing people with the world’s best transportation in an autonomous world. As autonomous tech moves from science fiction to reality, Lyft’s AV Business team is developing the Company’s strategy and forming partnerships needed to both develop new technologies needed for AVs and to quickly scale AV technology on our network.
About the role:
The Strategy Analyst sits at the center of Lyft’s two-pronged AV strategy: you will work both with Lyft’s Level 5 Engineering team that is developing Lyft’s own self-driving technology, and with our Platform team that is working with partners to deploy their autonomous vehicles on Lyft’s network.

We need creative, analytical strategists who thrive on tackling new challenges every day: one day you could be working to help negotiate an eight-figure technology contract, another you could be working with C-level executives to refine Lyft’s future business model for autonomous vehicles. You will need to be superb at working cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations to set Lyft’s autonomous strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Shape the strategy for how Lyft deploys autonomous vehicles with with Lyft’s Autonomous executives
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Level 5 product, engineering, and operations to execute on autonomous business needs
    • Build and own complex analytical models that will frame deal structures and negotiation parameters with potential partners
    • Evaluate the strategic and financial value of deal proposals and translate the value exchange for autonomous team members
    • Work closely with Lyft’s corporate development team to value acquisitions and growth opportunities for the Level 5 tech team
    • Execute autonomous-related business analysis and presentation for executives
    • Manage competitive intelligence team discovery and facilitate communication of those insights to key stakeholders across the company

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, ideally in Economics, Mathematics, or Engineering
    • 3+ years of analytical business experience (investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or equivalent)
    • Advanced financial and scenario modeling skills
    • Experience with deal negotiation and strategy
    • Strong understanding of finance fundamentals
    • Track record in approaching complex, undefined business problems in structured, strategic, and analytical way
    • Ability and eagerness to work cross-functionally with various teams
    • Able to communicate effectively with key stakeholders
    • “Get it done” mentality and ability to execute
    • Passion for mobility services and related technology
