With our University and Industry Partners, we have built a strong catalog of computer science courses, Specializations, and degrees. We are looking for someone who will build upon this solid foundation and take our flagship category to the next level, shaping the future of a world-class education in computer science.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial content manager who is passionate about education. This person should have extensive knowledge in the field of computer science (defined broadly), be passionate about designing curriculum and learning experiences in this field, have experience delivering business results, and have the entrepreneurial drive to operate effectively within a startup. As the Content Manager for Computer Science content, you manage the health and performance of the computer science domain. You have a strategic vision for Coursera’s computer science content and credentials, and will work across the organization (with Partnerships, Product, Marketing and more) to make computer science content and its learners successful. This is a highly external facing role, and we are looking for a strong communicator who is comfortable presenting their ideas to high level stakeholders at Universities and companies.

Your Responsibilities:

    • Develop a vision for a portfolio of high value content and credentials for Coursera’s computer science category, from courses to Specializations, Certificate Programs and Degrees
    • Conduct industry and competitive market research to identify catalog gaps, inform sourcing wishlists, and align content and credentials with the job market to help learners achieve career outcomes
    • Work with Coursera Partnerships teams to pitch and persuade instructors within universities and companies to create high value content and credentials in computer science
    • Evaluate content proposals for product-market fit and technical accuracy, and work with external instructors and content producers to shape content with the learner in mind
    • Monitor and analyze content performance as well as insights/feedback from computer science learner communities and work with instructors to implement actionable changes for highest value content
    • Understand our computer science catalog deeply (and in relation to competitive offerings) and educate the rest of the company and our Partners on the category and how we can improve it.

Your Skills:

    • 2+ years of work experience as a software engineer, computer science consultant, computer science instructor, or other technology related role
    • Clear and comprehensive understanding of the computer science domain -- you understand the different facets of education and careers in this category and are comfortable acting as Coursera’s resident expert both internally and externally
    • Entrepreneurial attitude and a real self-starter -- you set ambitious goals and you are creative and dogged about how you get there
    • Strong ability to effectively communicate your insights through presentations and discussions with external and internal stakeholders to influence decision making
    • Relationship development and networking with practitioners and other subject matter experts in the computer science community
    • Proven analytical skills and enthusiasm for incorporating data-driven decision making in a creative process
    • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with aggressive timelines
